  • In The Court Of The Crimson King (An Observation By King Crimson) is an LP by King Crimson from 1979 released on the Polydor label.

    About this album

King Crimson’s debut is a landmark of progressive rock, fusing heavy riffs, jazz tension and mellotron-drenched grandeur into a new template for the genre. Released in 1969, In The Court Of The Crimson King made an immediate impact with the searing attack of “21st Century Schizoid Man” and the monumental title track, while “Epitaph” and “I Talk To The Wind” showed a rare balance of menace and lyricism. The album’s blend of virtuoso musicianship, dark imagination and symphonic scale helped define prog rock and remains one of the most influential British rock records of its era.
